Find something and move between Boards

You can keep separate Boards for personal life, work, a side project, a move, a hobby, or any other mission without turning them into one giant list.

Open the Boards hub to enter the part of life or work you need. Use Find when you remember a word, person, file, date, or phrase connected to what you are looking for.

The short version

1. Open Boards and choose a Board.
2. Use the visible Find control, /, or Cmd/Ctrl+F.
3. Open a result to return to its Card, message, file, or Stage item.
4. Switch Boards when the work belongs to a different mission.

Find searches the Board you have open. It does not combine every Board into one result list.

Move between Boards

Open the Boards hub to see your signed-in cloud Boards. Choose one to open it. From the hub you can also create a Board or remove one; removed Boards remain recoverable in Removed Items for their Owner until permanently deleted.

Use a separate Board when a mission needs its own durable home. A move, renovation, family plan, product release, side hustle, class, client engagement, or creative project can each have a Board without forcing every concern into one universal queue.

Find something on the current Board

Press Cmd+F on macOS or Ctrl+F on Windows and Linux. You can also choose the visible Find control or press /.

Find can match information such as:

• Card titles and Chat messages;
• attachment names and links;
• people, labels, priority, and due dates;
• supported import details.

Search is case-insensitive and supports partial matches. Familiar work terms such as nav and navigation, auth and authentication, or spec and specification can match one another.

Use the arrow keys to select a result and press Enter to open it. When a result points to a Stage item, attachment, or Chat message, You.one opens the Card at that destination when the result supports it.

Clearing the query returns every Card to its existing List position. Finding and opening a result does not move or edit the Card.

Find something inside one Card

When a Card Room is open, Find can work at two scopes:

• Find in this Card searches across the Room's Stage and shared Chat. Use All, Stage, or Chat to narrow it.
• Find here searches only the document or Chat surface where you are currently working.

The Card header opens whole-Card Find. A document and Chat also have visible local Find controls.

Press Enter to move to the next occurrence and Shift+Enter to move back. From a Card Room, Cmd/Ctrl+K opens Board Find.

Know what Find does not do

Current Find looks for terms, phrases, supported aliases, and indexed fields. It does not infer every conceptual relationship from a vague question, search every Board at once, or change the work.
